Irene Kaszubowski, formerly of Elgin, born April 25, 1909 in Vestaburg, MI to William and Phoebe Nickerson, passed away at her home on Sunday, December 31, 2000. Irene will be especially remembered as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and is greatly missed; she was preceded in death by her husband Walter in 1982; her brother Kenneth in 1969 and her parents; survivors are her daughters Lynn (Ralph) Chimis of Elgin; granddaughters, Leah and Rachel Chimis; sister Violet Atkisson of Tuscon, AZ; brother Bernard (Jane) Nickerson of Vestaburg, MI; fond aunt of numerous nieces and nephews, and dear friend to many. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 28, 2001, at Elgin Church of the Nazarene on the corners of Golf and Berner Rds., in Elgin. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice, American Heart Association or the Elgin Church of the Nazarene. Pastor Miller officiating.
