Wallace S. Schall, 98, died on December 31. He was born in Chicago on January 1, 1903. A native Chicagoan, a noted Attorney and Builder, a beloved Professor Emeritus at Northwestern University where he taught for 42 years. Wallace received his BS degree in 1925, his MA degree in 1927 and his Jurist Doctorate in 1927, all from Northwestern University in Evanston. He was an instructor of Political Science, Professional Lecturer of Business law, Chairman of the Department of Real Estate and Associate Professor at Northwestern. Wallace was admitted to the Illinois Bar Association in 1927. Admitted to the Supreme Court of the United States in 1948. Legal advisor to Finland 1939 to 1941. He was a member of the Chicago Bar Association for over 50 years, Illinois Bar Association, Chicago Real Estate Board, National Association of Real Estate Board, Director and past President of The Geographic Society of Chicago, Chairman of Education Committee of The Chicago Real Estate Board, member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Phi Alpha Delta, Delta Sigma Pi, Alpha Pi Zeta, United Mt Claire, Medina Temple. He published a Law Dictionary and copyrighted numerous legal forms. Wallace had many hobbies and interests, some were extensive travel, making a number of around the world trips with his wife and 4 children, among them gaining permission from the Soviet Government to cross Siberia during the cold war. He loved drawing and sketching, planting trees and gardening. He loved studying languages and philosophy. Wallace married Dorothy (Betty) Kuhn on December 13, 1950. They resided in Chicago until 1955 when they moved to Northfield where he resided until his passing. Wallace’s family includes wife Betty and their four children, son Mike and his wife Nancy, daughter Nancy and her husband Tim Taylor and sons Richard and John. Wallace was the proud grandfather of three grandchildren, Sam, Katie and Jack. Services will be held Wednesday January 10, at 7 p.m. at Sheridan Shore Yacht Club in Wilmette Illinois, 20 Harbor Drive located at Gillison Park. Flowers are not requested.
