It is quite disconcerting to read about the many traffic accidents with injuries or fatalities that involve individuals driving without valid driver’s licenses, suspended or otherwise. Being a former New Yorker, I remember this being an issue there in 1993-94. There was enough of an outcry that New York passed a law making it a criminal offense to be operating a motor vehicle without a license. It is criminal if Illinois does not consider a law similar to New York’s to make our streets safer for all of us.
