Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

I am writing about the Alamo Bowl. As a fan in the stands, I had a bird’s eye (literally, from my seat) view of the action. Despite the drubbing my beloved Wildcats received, I wanted to congratulate them on their sportsmanship and class during that game. They were clearly outsized and outmatched, yet they continued to show what I felt was a lot of heart.

The fact that Nebraska was leading 52-17 and still resorted to trick plays with their first string demonstrated to me and, I hope, the world at large what poor character they have.

To Northwestern: I want you to know that I and the alumni I had a chance to talk to are prouder of you all in defeat than I would have been of Nebraska in victory. May the seasons ahead show you continuing to grow and enjoy success.
