Robert Pierre Leroy, formerly of Chicago, died Dec. 28, 2000 in Rancho Mirage, CA. He was born Aug. 22, 1924 to Elie and Helen, nee Wright, Leroy in Jersey City, NJ. He married Florence Simmons on June 15, 1957 in Los Angeles. He was trained by the Jesuits at Loyola High School and Loyola University in Los Angeles and served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a well respected executive in the hotel industry for more than 45 years, four of which were spent as general manager of The Drake Ho-tel. His memberships included The International Wine and Food Society and The Society of Bacchus. He is survived by his wife, Florence; daughter, Patria (John Sullivan); son, Robert David; sister, Marie (Aksel Pedersen); three grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and their families. He also will be remembered by a wide-spread family of friends. Private services were held in Palm Springs, CA. The family suggests memorial donations be made to Loyola High School, 1901 Venice Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90006.
