Memmen, 72, of Waukegan, January 5, 2000, loving husband of Carolyn, nee Neary; dear father of Dr. James (Mary) Memmen of Green Bay, WI, Daniel (Mary) Memmen of Savage, MN, Thomas (Cindy) Memmen of Stow, OH; fond son-in-law of Otto Braun of Marinette, WI; and brother-in-law of Marilyn and David Gustman of Jupiter, FL; grandfather of nine. Teacher at Andrew Cooke School from 1952 to 1956. Principal at Whittier and Hyde Park Schools in Waukegan from 1956 to retirement in 1983. Graduated from Northern Illinois University 1952 and received masters in education from Northwestern University in 1956. Memorial service 11 a.m. Saturday at Faith United Methodist Church, 414 N.
