Barbara Dickinson, 76, of Trumbull, Conn., a former longtime resident of Arlington Heights, died Wednesday, Jan. 3, in Bridgeport, Conn. Mrs. Dickinson moved to the Chicago area from Detroit in 1960 and settled in Arlington Heights. She worked as a clerk at Crawford Department Store in Rolling Meadows before she moved to Trumbull in 1972. In Trumbull, Mrs. Dickinson worked as an ambulance driver and later as a dispatcher for the Trumbull Emergency Medical Service for 20 years. She retired in the mid-1990s. She is survived by a son, Charles; three daughters, Carol Hildebrandt, Jane Kinert and Joan; a sister, Joan Brandenburg; four grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. A memorial service will be held in Connecticut.
