George A. Duchossois, 77, brother of Richard Duchossois, chairman of Arlington Park racetrack, died Wednesday, Jan. 10, in Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey. Mr. Duchossois, who had lived in New Lenox for the past five years, was a purchasing agent at the family’s Chicago Heights-based Thrall Car Manufacturing Co. from 1966 until he retired in 1992. He also owned Gambles Hardware Store in Kendallville, Ind., from 1953 to 1966. Mr. Duchossois was a sergeant in the Army Air Forces during World War II, taking part in the Normandy invasion and in campaigns in France and central Europe. Mr. Duchossois graduated from Chicago’s Morgan Park Military Academy and Morgan Park Junior College. Other survivors include a son, George; a sister, Marguerite Van Order; and a grandson. Services are private.
