Harriet M. Eldersveld, age 88, of Crete, formerly of Lansing, passed away Sunday, Jan. 14, beloved mother of Paul (Carmen), James and Mary (David) Vander Hart; loving grandmother of Lisa, David (Jennifer) and Michael Eldersveld, Laura and Peter Vander Hart; dear sister of Janet (the late Edwin) Holman; fond sister-in-law of Vivian Kuiper; she was preceded in death by her husband the Rev. Peter H. Eldersveld, a minister of the Christian Reformed Church and Radio Minister of the “Back to God Hour”; and two brothers John A. Kuiper and William Kuiper. Funeral service will be held Thursday, Jan. 18, 11 a.m. at the Bethel Christian Reformed Church, Lansing. Interment Mount Greenwood Cemetery, Chicago. Friends may call at Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home, 3227 Ridge Rd., Lansing, Wednesday, from 2 to 8 p.m. Mrs. Eldersveld was a longtime member of Bethel C.R.C. She was a former teacher and board member of Roseland Christian School and a former teacher at Lansing Christian School. After her retirement, she continued teaching and tutoring until shortly before her death.
