Mary Helen Travis, 76 years old, of Freeport, IL, died Tuesday, January 16, 2001 at the Stephenson Nursing Center, born August 30, 1924 in Chicago, IL, married in May 1946 in Chicago to Edgar Travis; survived by two daughters Gloria Schuster of Freeport and Phyllis (Michael) Broenneke of Freeport; parents John and Mary Kasper. She and her husband were active with the American Legion. Funeral Thursday, January 18, 2001, 8 p.m. at Schwarz Funeral Home, 816 S. Galena Ave., Freeport, IL. Minister Father Joe Lutz of St. Mary’s Catholic Church will officiate. Visitation from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the Schwarz Funeral Home, 815-235-7371.
