Lisa Richards, 42, of Elgin, was a veterinary technician with Golf-Rose Animal Hospital, Schaumburg, for the past eight years. Mrs. Richards died Wednesday, Jan. 17, in Provena St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin, of complications from diabetes. Mrs. Richards was a 1977 graduate of Glenbard North High School in Carol Stream. “She had loved animals since she was a child,” said her mother, Becky Searle. “Her kindergarten teacher was worried because she always wanted to take the part of the animal when they acted out nursery rhymes. She worked for veterinary hospitals for 26 years, from the time she was in high school when one was being built nearby. She found out who had gotten the building permit and applied for a job before it was even built.” Mrs. Richards is also survived by her father, Jack Abraham; and a sister, Leslie Bird. A memorial service will begin at 3 p.m. Sunday in Arlington Heights Evangelical Free Church, 1330 Douglas Ave., Arlington Heights.
