Carl W. Selke, age 81, of Hoffman Estates, beloved husband of Alice, nee Ascher, whom he married on Oct. 26, 1940; loving father of Donald (Judy) Selke, Sandra Wilberg, Barbara (Stephen) Bishop and Debra (William) Kibby; cherished grandfather of Donald (Cathy) Selke, Scott (Ginger) Selke, Sheila (Michael) Fey, Carl (Melissa) Selke, Julie (Stephen) Zimmerman, Amy Wilberg (Matthew), James and Meghan Bishop and Ronald, Brandon, McKenzie and Mickayla Kibby; devoted great-grandfather of 15; dear son of the late Carl and Ruby Selke; fond brother of the late James and Doris Selke. Mr. Selke was the first paid Fire Chief for the Village of Hoffman Estates for 28 years. He was a member of the National Fire Chiefs Association and of General Douglas MacArthur Honor Guard Association. Mr. Selke was also a drummer in the Les Amac Band. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated for Mr. Selke on Saturday, Jan. 20 at 11:15 a.m. at St. Hubert Catholic Church, 729 Grand Canyon Pkwy., Hoffman Estates. Interment will be private.
