SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA The agency that oversees California’s power grid said Saturday that reserves of electricity were again seriously low but that lights were expected to stay on across the state throughout the weekend.

The California Independent System Operator agency’s Stage 3 alert signaled that power reserves were approaching 1.5 percent. The alerts allow the agency to impose rolling blackouts, but a spokeswoman said none were planned.

The ISO shut off power to hundreds of thousands of homes and businesses Wednesday and Thursday. On Friday, independent gas stations along the coast ran out of fuel because of a pipeline shutdown.
