Leonard M. Lee, age 85, died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001 at Naples Community Hospital in Naples, FL, born April 4, 1915 on Easter Sunday in Chicago, the son of Eugene and Clara (Wittman) Lee. Because of their many sacrifices, he lived a long and prosperous life. In 1933 he graduated from Nicholas Senn High School. Then on June 3, 1939 Leonard established Lee Supply & Tool Co. with his father and brother LeRoy. With a lot of hard work and honest dealings their business prospered and continued for 49 years until May 13, 1988 they retired. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II and was honorably discharged in 1944. On July 26, 1944, Leonard was united in marriage to Genevieve H. Owens. He was a lifemember of the Masonic order. Past Master of Myrtle Covenant Lodge #141 A.F.&A.M., accepted Ancient Scottish Rite and Medinah Shrine. In addition to his wife Genevieve of Naples, FL, he is survived by his only daughter Linda O’Dell of Madison, WI; granddaughter Tracy O’Dell of Madison; brother LeRoy L. Lee of Naples, FL; nieces, Sandra (Peter) Heckman of Springfield, IL and Barbara (Robert) Kott of McLean, VA; six grandnieces and nephews; and numerous cousins; preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law Dorothy Lee. Funeral service Sunday, Jan. 21, 2001, 2 p.m. at Ryan Funeral Home, 2418 N. Sherman Ave., Madison, WI.
