Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

In a recent column about the Fiesta Bowl, writer Dan McGrath had a hissy fit over all the penalties called against Oregon State. Those OSU players were nothing but a bunch of rowdies? Give me a break. How can a Chicago paper be offended by anything that happens in sports?

Yours is the town that took Dennis Rodman to its heart–now there’s a fine piece of work. You still lionize loudmouth Mike Ditka, who got lucky and won a Super Bowl, then was such an egomaniac he ran off the defensive coach and the quarterback who gave him the crown.

I could go on, but I think you get the point. Next time try writing how mediocre Notre Dame used its television-star status to get into a bowl game for which it didn’t have the talent.
