I was extremely disappointed that the Chicago Tribune, a respected newspaper chose to run a column, “Clinton Leaves an Uninspired legacy,” by Robert Samuelson (Commentary, Jan. 5).

One would have hoped that after coming through a divided election, the written word would focus on bringing people together rather than keeping them apart.

Samuelson’s column was purely subjective and reflects his obvious dislike for Clinton. It is my impression that the aim of writing on anything or a person was to be objective.

Samuelson overlooks the number of successes Clinton had over the past eight years and concentrates on the few negatives.

Personal biases should not he allowed to come forward, especially on the editorial pages of a respected newspaper like the Tribune.
