Mrs. Dahn, who was born in Odin, Ill., died Sunday, Jan. 21, in Heritage Manor nursing home in Elgin. “My mom was very quiet,” said her son, Ronald Hecht. “She was a lovable mother. She loved her grandchildren. She was a very qualified seamstress. She used to make a lot of our clothes. She made doll clothes. Her main interest was her grandchildren.” Other survivors include a daughter, Pattie Quandt; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Services will begin at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in Bluff City Cemetery, 945 Bluff City Blvd., Elgin.
