I am not saying that it is great for the Rev. Jackson to have an out of wedlock child, but he is not an elected official. I think the press is getting a bit carried away with this news when we have an elected (just re-elected) congressman here in DuPage County who had a “youthful indiscretion.”
The press made no mention of that at the time of his re-election.
He even led the committee to impeach the president for the same reason. Sounds like Henry Hyde got the ol’ double standard treatment from the press. Politics as usual. I imagine this will give Rush Limbaugh enough to exploit until death. Sorry to hear so much about your indiscretion, Rev. Jackson. I hope your family will rally around your honesty.
