Catherine M. McGuire, of Charlotte, NC, formerly of Barrington, IL, died Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2001 at her residence. Born Feb. 10, 1923 in Chicago to the late James J. and Ida Dallman Mooney. Catherine had been a longtime resident of Barrington prior to moving to Charlotte in 1998. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 26 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1400 Suther Rd., Charlotte, NC. She is survived by her husband, William F. McGuire; children, William F. McGuire of Park Ridge, IL, Catherine B. McGuire of Charlotte, NC, Patricia M. Malkinson of Evanston, IL and Michael J. McGuire of Hurricane, WV; sister, Marian Katkus of Park Ridge, IL; also survived by six grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren. The family has requested in lieu of flowers memorials be made to Hospice of Charlotte, 1420 E. 7th Street, Charlotte, NC 28204.
