Herbert Herman Piehl, 86, of Chicago, died Jan. 1, 2001 in Winston-Salem, NC while visiting family. He was born April 21, 1914 in Chicago to William and Marie Piehl. Mr. Piehl was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and retired from Newman-Rudolph (American Can Company) after 25 years of service. Survived by wife, Faye Pentti Piehl of the Regency Center in Niles, IL; two sons, Donald H. (Ann) Piehl of Winston-Salem and Thomas W. Piehl of Atlanta, GA; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, Jan. 27, 2001 at 1:30 p.m. at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 1218 W. Addison St., Chicago, IL 60613. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
