After reading about President Bush’s education plan, I am so glad that it includes vouchers. Vouchers are so essential in getting public schools to act appropriately and educate our nation’s children. Public schools have been getting worse in places where vouchers aren’t used. It’s time to light a fire under these public schools.

Bush’s inclusion of school vouchers is a perfect example of his compassionate conservative philosophy, which has been the theme of his campaign.

Vouchers would greatly benefit the children, especially minority children, in poor neighborhoods.

We already know the bad reputation the Chicago Public Schools have earned because of their shoddy education record. These poor children are supposed to be whom the Democrats are targeting. But for some reason they want to deny them a great education tool that will give them a better promise to a brighter future. The Democrats want to deny these poor parents a vital avenue to escape this no-win situation for their children, which would empower them to be active in their children’s education. That’s a shame.

If President Bush continues to be proactive like this, we have a superb four years ahead of us.
