The Rolling Meadows Park District Board has awarded a contract for a wheelchair lift and disabled-accessible restroom at the field house at Plum Grove Park, near Illinois Highway 53 and Longacres Drive.

The board last week voted to pay R&W Clark Construction Co. of Tinley Park $94,400 for the project.

Parks Supt. Mike Schiller told the board that Sente and Rubel, a Northbrook architectural firm, recommended Clark over eight others.

Rudy Nelson, director of parks and recreation, said $20,000 would be available for the project from a grant received from state Rep. Suzanne Bassi (R-Palatine) and $20,000 would come from a Cook County community development block grant. The remainder will come from the district’s capital improvements budget.
