Dorothy Womrath Hobbs, died on Jan. 29 at the Wagner Home in Evanston, IL. She was 95 years old. Loving wife of her deceased husband, Richard Hutchinson Hobbs. A graduate of the University of Minnesota and the Sorbonne. She studied music in Paris and New York City and was an accomplished concert pianist. She was a member of several music clubs. As a direct descendant of Governor William Bradford, she was a member of the Mayflower Society and a former president of the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America in the State of Illinois. She was an active member of Christ Church in Winnetka, where she was former president of the Women’s Guild, chairman of the Rummage Sale and of the Churchyard Committee. Dorothy was a member of Women’s Board of the Field Museum, the Contemporary Club and of the Winnetka Garden Club from whom she received the Eleanor Wilson Marsh Award. She is survived by her son, Richard Jr.; her daughter-in-law, Valerie; three granddaughters; a great-granddaughter; and a great-grandson. Funeral Services will be held at Christ Episcopal Church, 784 Sheridan Rd., Winnetka, at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10.
