William Franklin Hughes Jr., M.D., 87, passed away January 30. Former Chairman of Department of Ophthalmology at Rush Presbyterian St. Lukes and University of Illinois-Chicago Medical Centers. Husband of Jane S. and the late Wanema Dickey Hughes; father of W. Franklin (Harrie M.) Hughes III, Jacqueline Alter Hughes and Sarah Hughes Guth; stepfather of Richard (Margaret) Pither, Penelope (Richard) Pither Osgood, Susan (Vicente) Hixson Mas, Henry H. (Marilyn) Hixson III and Linda (Matthew) Hixson Goulish; grandfather of Lindsay E. and Nicholas Franklin Hughes, Anthony and Matthew Guth. Funeral service will be held Saturday, Feb. 3, at 10 a.m. at the Northfield Community Church, 400 Wagner Rd., Northfield. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to William F.
