Stella Chapas, nee Malesh, born in 1905 in Siaulai, Lithuania. She immigrated to America in 1921 with her parents and six brothers and sisters. In her adopted country, she learned English, completed beauty school and operated her own beauty shop in Roseland during the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s. She is preceded in her death by her first husband, Peter Zaks, with whom she had one child, Noreen Briggs (Thomas) and her second husband, Anthony Chapas. Besides her daughter, Stella is survived by two grandchildren, David Briggs (Lynette) and Julie. A sister, Josephine Tanis, also survives. Stella will be remembered by her friends and family as being strong, hardworking and resourceful. She loved her family and America with all her heart. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 4709 Golf Road, Suite #1015, Skokie, IL 60076. Visitation Saturday morning from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Hills Funeral Home, Ltd., 10201 S.
