Billie J. Beauford, 72, of Alamogordo, NM, died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2001 in Alamogordo. Mr. Beauford was born Feb. 23, 1928 in Wilson, OK. He served in the U.S. Army and the Air Force. In 1993 he retired from the Department of Veterans Affairs as a lab supervisor at the VA Westside Hospital in Chicago. He was a member of the American Association of Pathologists and had a real estate sales license in Illinois. Survivors include a son, Mike Beauford of Chicago; two daughters, Heidi (Mark) Beckstrom of Hampshire, IL and Holli (Terry) Carr of Alamogordo; seven grandchildren, Matthew, Sarah, Daniel and Heather Beckstrom of Hampshire and Tiara, Tiffany and Tyler Carr of Alamogordo; three sisters, Louise (Montie) Cates of Modell, OK, Lonia Paxman of Round Rock, TX and Panzy (Hugh) Downey of Durante, OK; preceded in death by his wife, Lois Virginia, nee Verstegen, Beauford in 1970.
