Eugene E. Kanak, former Darien resident, 76, died January 9, 2001 in Harrison, AR. Services and interment will be private. Mr. Kanak was a bricklayer before retiring. He was 23 year resident of Omaha, AR. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII. Survivors include his wife Lee; two sons Jerry and Gene Jr.; two daughters Jennylynn (Ray) Osypka and Lisa; three step children Cindy, Jeff, and Candy; one sister Adeline Hnilo; and many grandchildren.
