Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

As Sammy Sosa has shown us, the Cubs are not his No. 1 concern. He is No. 1 on his list, and the Cubs need to put the team first.

I have been a Cubs fan for many years and now is the time to think about the Cubs’ future.

Sammy is an average fielder and baserunner. Yes, he hits home runs and had a higher batting average last year, but he is also a leader in strikeouts. In my opinion, he does not care about the Cubs. All he wants is his popularity at Wrigley Field. He might not get that somewhere else. If he doesn’t want to be traded, let him ride out his contract, then use the millions he’s been getting to bring in some new, younger players and finally focus on getting the Cubs into the World Series.

Home runs will not bring a championship. Are the Cubs ready to build a championship team? If not, then change the name to the Chicago Sammies and everybody will be happy.
