George D. Smith, 85, of Aurora, formerly of Bellwood, beloved husband of the late Pauline; loving father of George Jr. (Susan) of Lawndale, CA and Paul (Mary) of Aurora, IL; dear grandfather of Carin (Warren) Peterson and Anne Marie Smith; dearest great-“gramps” of Janna and Danielle Peterson. He had a lifelong devotion to family and gave unconditional love to all, including his 11 siblings. He worked for more than 30 years as a repected manager for Westinghouse Elevators. He was an Army vet of WW II, serving his country overseas in the 8th Infantry Division. He was member of more than 50 years of D.C. Creigier Lodge #81 A.F. & A.M.
