Thanks to the Illinois Gaming Board, we won’t have a land-based casino in Rosemont anytime soon (“Gaming board rejects Rosemont casino bid,” Page 1, Jan. 31).
Forget the mob ties for a minute.
The very idea of building a land-based casino with a small moat around it and calling it a boat is ridiculous.
Doing so would send the wrong message to the citizenry of this state: Don’t worry about the law; just find a loophole; just get the money.
If it really is a boat, let’s tow it out into the middle of the lake and see if this thing really floats.
