The San Jose Sharks are projected to finish with 104 points in the final standings on the strength of 66 points in their first 52 games. Should the Sharks register 88 points or better this season, San Jose will join the Boston Bruins (1925-30), Detroit Red Wings (1946-51) and the New York Rangers (1966-71) as the only teams to improve their point totals for five consecutive seasons. The New York Islanders of 1973-1979 is the only team in NHL history to post improved point totals in six straight seasons. %%
