Stephen J. Baranoski, 82, died February 5, 2001. He served in WWII at the Headquarters Company SHAEF as a recording engineer in England, France and Germany. He recorded programs for “The Army Hour” and organized and provided entertainment for special services. He started as a church musician at age 10 and was music director at many parishes in the Archdiocese of Chicago. He was an accomplished keyboard artist who performed many concerts both secular and sacred. He was the owner of the Baranoski Studios in Park Ridge and founding member of the South Park Merchants Association. In his retirement, he and his wife, Edelle, spent much time traveling North America and abroad. He was an avid woodworker and enjoyed his daily trips to the hardware store. Beloved husband of 52 years to Edelle, nee Boarini; dear father of Dee (Tom) Gancarz, Steve (Paula) Barans and Liz (Glenn) Knuth; loving grandfather of Glenn Jr. Funeral mass at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 9, 2001 at St. Mary of Fremont Center Church, Rt. 60 at Erhart Rd.
