Newton Franklin Korhumel, age 95, born Aug. 21, 1905, died Feb. 5, 2001 at home, ‘he was a great man.” Survivors include his wife Irene; two sons Lee and Marcus; one daughter Christine Janks; along with two daughters-in-law Carol and Julie and son-in-law Barry Janks; four grandchildren, John, Cynthia, Rachel and Nicholas; and four great-grandchildren, Christopher and Nathaniel Fencl, Erin and Hunter Korhumel; and niece Charlotte Whetstone. A family service is planned and interment is private.
