Calvin A. Fanslow Sr., 76, beloved husband of Lila, nee Belcher, Fanslow; loving father of Linda (Leon)Waksmundzki, Diane (Jim) Mertz and Cal Fanslow Jr.; adored by nine grandchildren, April (Mike), Jimmy, Shanon, Corin, Amber, Lindsey, Aaron, Kristine and Kari; fond great-grandfather to Linnae and Chloe; also his two canine pals, Tigger and Baylee. A Veteran, service in the U.S. Army during WWII. Calvin worked for Continental Can Co. for 43 years, retired in 1986. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St. (Rt. 31), Elgin, 847-741-8800 . Burial in Dundee Twp. East Cemetery, East Dundee. Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice of Northeastern Illinois, 410 S. Hager Ave., Barrington, IL 60010.
