Lillian Bernice “Bea” Bresee, 91, of The Windsor of Savoy, formerly of Champaign, died at 11:30 a.m. Sunday February 4, 2001, at home. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. February 24, at the First Presbyterian Church, 302 W. Church St., Champaign. Private entombment will be in Mount Hope Mausoleum, Champaign. The family will receive friends following the service in Westminster Hall of the church. Morgan Memorial Home, Savoy, is handling arrangements. Mrs. Bresee was born March 20, 1909 at Hoopeston, a daughter of Charles and Blanche Ryan Stephens. She married Howard Russell “Tiz” Bresee on August 16, 1936, at Danville. He died in August 1989. Surviving are three daughters, Melinda Hinners of St. Charles, Alicia Bresee of Fort Lauderdale, FL and Marcia Dalrymple of Washington, D.C.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Bresee graduated from the University of Illinois in 1931 and taught seventh-grade english in the Champaign school district. She was a member and elder of the First Presbyterian Church of Champaign and was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, the Champaign Country Club, Friends of Krannert and Friends of the Champaign Public Library. Her interests included gardening, travel and music. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Champaign.
