Patricia “Pat” Schneider, age 67, of Coal Valley, died January 30, 2001 at her home. A memorial service will be held at St. Gall Catholic Church in Chicago, IL on Saturday, February 10, 2001. Visitation will be at 10:30 a.m. followed by a memorial mass at 11:15 a.m. The former Mary Patricia Page was born on March 16, 1933 in Chicago, the daughter of Donald J. and Cecilia C. Page. She was raised and educated in Chicago and married Charles A. Schneider on January 31, 1953 in Chicago and moved to the Quad Cities in 1960. After raising her children, she was employed as a legal secretary and retired from a Moline law firm in December of 1998. She was a lifetime member and was active for many years in all facets of theater production for Playcrafters Barn Theater and retired from their Board of Directors. She worked as a board member for the Home & School Assns. of St. Joseph Parish School, Jordan Catholic and Alleman High School. She was an avid reader and wrote essays for publication. She enjoyed spending winters at the family home on Sanibel Island in Florida. She is survived by her husband; her six children and their spouses, Carl A. and Kathy Schneider, Christopher A. and Margaret Schneider, Cary A. Schneider and partner Jeffrey T. Buysse, Patti C. and Douglas Burke, Paula M. and John Toomey, and Peggi A. Merchie. Her grandchildren are Kara and Kally Schneider, Ian and Kyle Burke, Anna, Matt and Maggie Schneider, and Alissa Merchie. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Lauretta Obrochta and Margaret Dahl.
