Marilyn E. Olson, 57, of Lisle, a homemaker with a passion for politics, died Wednesday, Feb. 7, in Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago. Born in Chicago, Mrs. Olson grew up in Elmhurst and graduated from Immaculate Conception High School. She lived in Villa Park and Woodridge before moving to Lisle in 1980. Mrs. Olson was a political junkie and an ardent follower of the recent presidential election. “She was outspoken when it came to politics and could spout chapter and verse on all the candidates,” said her husband of 38 years, Tom. “She read everything she got her hands on and watched all the political pundits.” Mrs. Olson also enjoyed bird watching and was a member of the Purple Martin Society. “She’d grab a pair of binoculars and zero in on a bird she’d never seen before,” her husband said. “Later, she would go look it up in a book and try to identify it.” Other survivors include two sons, Michael and Timothy; her mother, Mary Ann Duda; three sisters, Penny LeGrand, Theresa Frank and Andrea Linneweh; and a brother, Edwin Duda. Services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday in Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville, and continue with a mass at 9:30 a.m. in Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 36 N. Ellsworth St., Naperville.
