About two dozen Elgin Community College students gathered Friday in support of striking faculty members.
“Our teachers definitely deserve what they’re asking for,” said student Shawn McDonnell, who organized the gathering at the Country Inn & Suites in Elgin.
After 10 months of negotiations, teachers and college officials deadlocked Monday over increases in salaries and a managed health-care plan. Negotiations weren’t expected to resume for a few weeks.
