This chapter of the spring story is told simply–in black and white, the season’s big color trend. But an undeniable accent is on bareness and shape–beautiful skin and the curve of a woman’s body.
Shoulders are extremely important. On a strongly tailored jacket worn over a bare chest, shoulders are structured and built up. In a not-so-demure dress, one shoulder is deliberately exposed.
A clinging side-slit dress does two things: accentuates body shape and exposes long, naked legs. A miniskirted white leather suit shows off the legs as well; to further emphasize shape, the retro dolman sleeves taper in to a fitted waist.
This is dressing with an attitude and an edge: strong silhouettes. Bold and tough. Feminine but in control.
Last season was the exclusive domain of the debutante. She is gone, replaced by a self-made power broker. In other words, it’s the ’80s all over.
