Mary Frances McGuire, 94, of Wheeling, a former Evergreen Park resident for more than 25 years, retired in 1949 as a secretary for the Chicago office of Equitable Life, an insurance company, after 25 years of service. Mrs. McGuire, a Chicago native, died Friday, Feb. 9, in Addolorata Villa Health Care Center in Wheeling. “She was very devoted to the Adrian Dominican community [in Adrian, Mich.] where her sister [the late Sister Frances Gerald] was a member for nearly 60 years,” said her niece, Judy Broderick. “She was a resident of New Perspectives Home in Wheeling [a residence for Alzheimer’s disease patients] from 1995 to 1998, when she moved to Addolorata Villa. She was loving. She had no children of her own but she loved our children and the neighborhood children. She had a wonderful sense of humor and great loyalty to her friends and family. She was a very active parishioner at Holy Redeemer Parish [in Evergreen Park].” Prayers will be said at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday in Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights, followed by a mass at 10 a.m. in St. Mary Catholic Church, 75 N. Buffalo Grove Rd., Buffalo Grove.
