Kings goalie Jamie Storr registered the shutout in an 8-0 rout of the Dallas Stars on Jan. 30th in Los Angeles to tie a franchise record for most goals scored in a game while recording a shutout. Los Angeles recorded 8-0 shutouts over the Vancouver Canucks Feb. 24th, 1983 with Markus Mattson in goal and on Jan. 23rd, 1975 over the Toronto Maple Leafs with Rogie Vachon between the pipes.
The 8-0 victory over Dallas was the Kings’ largest margin of victory since a 9-1 thrashing of St. Louis on Dec. 11, 1993. The club record eleven goals for largest margin of victory occurred on Nov. 29th, 1984 when the Kings dismantled Vancouver 12-1.
THEN THERE WERE THREE
Coyotes center Jeremy Roenick scored the winning goal in a 3-2 decision over the Blackhawks in Phoenix Sunday. The goal was the 397th career regular-season tally for Roenick leaving him just three shy of the 400-goal plateau. Before the month is out, Roenick will become just the third U.S.-born player to reach that NHL milestone. Only Joe Mullen (502 goals) and Pat LaFontaine (468) have preceded J.R. to the 400-goal plateau.
OUTNUMBERED
St. Louis is picking up right where they left off last season, leading the NHL in goal differential with a +65 through Monday. Last season, the Blues lead the way with a goal differential of +83, a team record. The best overall goal differential belongs to the 1976-77 Montreal Canadiens with a remarkable +216.

Sharks goaltender Evgeni Nabokov registered his 20th win of the season in just his 28th start, a 2-1 decision over the Kings in Los Angeles Dec. 26th.
