Thomas L. Schroeder, 62, a retired meat cutter, died of cancer Saturday, Feb. 10, in his Mt. Prospect home. Mr. Schroeder was raised in Chicago and graduated from Lane Tech High School. He served from 1958 to 1960 in the Army and was stationed in South Korea. After his military service, Mr. Schroeder worked as a butcher in Chicago before moving to Mt. Prospect in 1973. Over the years, Mr. Schroeder worked for several groceries and meat markets in the northwest suburbs. He retired in 2000 after working nine years at Happy Foods in Skokie. He is survived by his wife, Vivian; two sons, Thomas and Steven; and a brother, Ross. A mass will be said at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Thomas Becket Church, 1321 Burning Bush Lane, Mt. Prospect.
