I am appalled and dismayed that your writers have nothing better to do than to make up disrespectful, fictional conversations. This is regarding Steve Chapman’s “You talkin’ to me? Clinton and Gore sort out the blame” (Commentary, Feb. 11).
I have read Mr. Chapman’s columns for a long time, but not anymore. Civil discourse is just that–the exchange of ideas in a respectful manner and tone of voice and word. If I want speculation, innuendo and trashy talk, I can get that from the talking heads on TV and radio.
Here’s a news-flash for you: Clinton and Gore are history. Please try focusing on news gathering and analysis of issues you have the facts on, not speculation and fiction.
