Edith E. Hilmer, nee Johnson, of Sawyer, MI, died February 15, 2001, loving wife of the late Arthur F. Hilmer; mother of Charles A. (Leslie Tidabeck) Hilmer; grandmother of Danielle Horn; sister of the late Helen M. Johnson and the late Reuben C. Johnson. Graduate of Chicago Teachers College and Northwestern University. Resident of Chicago’s Chatham area for many years, also of Westchester, IL, and summer resident of Bethany Beach, Sawyer, MI. Chicago Public School teacher at Drake Elementary School and Bennett Elementary School. Active member for many years of Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church, Chicago, and Grace Lutheran Church, LaGrange, IL. Presently a member of Harbert Community Church, Harbert, MI. Funeral services 12 p.m. CDT February 19, 2001 at Harbert Community Church. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Chicago, IL at 2:30 p.m. CDT.
