Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Poor, poor Sammy Sosa. He already makes enough money in two years to live on for the rest of his life. He has more money than most of us will make in our lifetimes, and he’s “disappointed” the Cubs aren’t going to give him his deal, what he thinks he’s worth.

Question: The fans make him who he is, but they have no say in his salary, so why disappoint them in this tug-of-war over salary? I think that’s beyond selfish. I don’t think Sosa getting a big increase is horrible. He obviously doesn’t remember what it was like simply to be grateful and thankful for the opportunity to play professional baseball.

What ever happened to playing for the love of the game?
