The following movies opened too late for a review in the Health & Family section:
“Sweet November”: Keanu Reeves portrays busy advertising executive Nelson Moss, who meets free-spirited Sara Deever (Charlize Theron) who persuades him to spend a month with her so that she can help him work through his unresolved emotional issues. What neither counts on is falling in love. Directed by Pat O’Connor. The film also stars Jason Isaacs, Greg Germann, Frank Langella and Liam Aiken. MPAA rating: PG-13 (sexual content and language).
“Down to Earth”: Chris Rock stars as a comedian who dies before his time and thus is returned to Earth in the body of a white millionaire in this remake of 1978’s “Heaven Can Wait” (as well as 1941’s “Here Comes Mr. Jordan”), from the writing-directing team behind “American Pie.” MPAA rating: PG-13 (language, sexual humor and some drug references).
“In the Mood for Love”: This romantic drama from Hong Kong director Wong Kar-wai explores the relationship between a newspaper editor (Tony Leung Chiu-wai, who won the Cannes best actor award for this performance) and a secretary (Maggie Cheung Man-yuk) when they discover their spouses are having an affair. MPAA rating: PG; running time: 98 minutes.
“Pollock”: Biography of protean painter Jackson Pollock, America’s first art celebrity. MPAA rating: R; (language and brief sexuality).
