Preceded in death by his beloved parents the late Arnold and Minnie Winter. Arnold was born September 19, 1922 in Bloomville, WI. He was a graduate of Lane Tech H.S., Class of 1940. In 1942, at the age of 19, he was fortunate to be signed by George Halas of the Chicago Bears. He sparred with the likes of Max Baer and Joe Lewis as well as being on the AAF Hondo Football Team. Arnie will always be remembered for his most recent participation as a Golden Gloves Boxing Coach for Portage Park in Chicago for more than 25 years. He often said that coaching was his most rewarding experience. He also was a proud member of American Legion Post #65. A memorial service for Arnie will be held Saturday, February 24, 2 p.m. at Olson Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6467 N. Northwest Hwy (one blk N. of Devon), Chicago. For info 773-774-3333.
