A number of letter writers and pundits aren’t pleased that the wealthy would get larger tax decreases from the president’s tax-cut proposal. Sorry about that, but that’s the way a progressive tax works. The more well-off taxpayers pay a higher rate, so any overall reduction in rates will reduce their taxes by more than the taxes of those who pay less.
