In “Legal action looming for hot-dog stand site” (Metro, Feb. 13), the Tribune reported the unfortunate news that my town wants to condemn Tasty Dog, a decades-old hot-dog stand, because (in the words of a village spokesman) it “just doesn’t fit in with the character of the neighborhood.” Basic rules of free-market economies indicate to me that if it did not fit in with the neighborhood, it would not have been here for more than 20 years.
