Allen A. Ehrhardt, age 55, a Senior Vice-President of the Segal Company, died Sunday, Feb. 18. Throughout his 30-year career as a consulting actuary, he possessed a deep personal commitment to establishing and improving benefits for working families. He was a trusted advisor to many multi-employer funds which provide pension and health care benefits for union members. His unbiased advice to union and management trustees was the basis for developing long-term plans to secure those benefits, improving the quality of life for thousands of families. Allen had a passionate interest in all art forms-visual, musical and literary. He was a lifelong collector and supporter of the arts. He believed that developing the human spirit through knowledge and art was an important part of enhancing the quality of life. To continue that spirit, the Ehrhardt Foundation provides resources to young men and women in pursuing their quest for knowledge and art, thereby enhancing not only the quality of their lives, but of those around them as well. Mr. Ehrhardt is survived by his wife, Wanda; and brother, Ronald. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Grace, nee Scire; and brother, Fred. Funeral Services Thursday 9 a.m. from Hursen Funeral Home, S.W. corner Roosevelt and Mannheim, Hillside/Westchester, to Divine Infant Church, Newcastle and Canterbury Streets, Westchester. Mass 10 a.m. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday 3 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ehrhardt Foundation, 27 N. Wacker Drive #127, Chicago, IL 60606 which has been established in memory of Allen to provide financial resources so that young men and women can realize their vision-through continued education, development of new skills or their creative talents.
